A BOLD NEW FACELIFT FOR THE MG HS

MG’s flagship SUV has undergone an extensive redesign presenting a sharper and more aggressive appearance.

MG’s flagship SUV has undergone an extensive redesign presenting a sharper and more aggressive appearance with no price increase for the customer. With the huge success of the previous HS, which was announced as the UK’s bestselling vehicle in January 2023, MG has decided to revitalise the model to continue its growth in popularity.

From an exterior perspective, the redesign is rather substantial. The front of the vehicle has the most revisions with the lights, grille and bumper now projecting a sportier more aggressive appearance. The rear of the car has also changed with added redesigned light clusters and a new bumper and exhaust treatment. As well as this, the entire range is now complete with 18-inch wheels.

New MG HS SE

The new MG naming convention as seen on the MG4 EV has continued onto the HS with SE being the entry-level version and Trophy replacing the Exclusive line.

The petrol SE starts at an impressive £23,495 and comes equipped with LED headlights, a rear parking camera, keyless entry, cruise control, four USB ports and hill descent control. The top-of-the-range, Trophy edition will set you back £25,995 which comes equipped with heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting, rear privacy glass and an upgraded 6-speaker audio system. Every model is equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen which has been upgraded to provide a faster, smoother and more enjoyable user experience.

In terms of the interior, it shares the same feel and quality of materials as the previous HS. The inside of the vehicle is extremely spacious with a huge amount of legroom in both the front and back. The boot has taken slightly lower priority offering a decent 463 litres that expands to a generous 1,454 litres with the back seats folded down.

New MG HS SE

The colour range is carried over to the New HS with the addition of Urban Grey which is now available for the first time within the MG range.

The petrol model is fitted with a 6-speed manual 1.5-litre engine or choose the 7-speed DCT which has the same engine size for £24,995. The facelifted MG HS is also available as a plug-in hybrid which uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that works in tandem with a 90kw electric motor and can return up to 32 miles of fully electric driving. The PHEV starts at £31,095 and the trophy edition starts at £33,595. Powertrain options remain the same as before and there are no changes to performance, emissions, or fuel economy figures. The styling changes of the HS PHEV are also identical to the petrol.

As with all MG’s, the HS will come complete with a 7-year warranty for complete peace of mind.
